A Little Goes a Long Way
Too often we get so wrapped up in ourselves, our problems, our jobs, our agenda that we forget we’re not alone. We are all walking around with these same issues and more; illness, caring for elderly parents, financial struggles, children who face challenges, the death of loved ones… and we expect ourselves and each other to go about our lives as if everything is “fine”.
None of us is ever really “fine”, are we? Aren’t we all dealing with something?
I’m asking you to give yourself, and others a break.
Give in little ways, and start with a bit of compassion.
Imagine their day. Step in their shoes, for just a minute. Give a little kindness to a mom who looks frazzled. A wink at a child who needs a moment of attention. A smile to an elderly person who feels invisible. Greet your spouse at the door, just because. Hug your teenager, even if they complain.
Give often. Give Deeply. Give Good.
