What's Stopping You From Trying Something New?
For some of us it’s a matter of time, but that will eventually change. First you find yourself with a bit of time, and then a bit more, and then suddenly time is stretching out before you and before long you will wonder what ever kept you so busy.
It was strange (for me) at first, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my “free” time. And I don’t mean the bit of time you carve out to buy groceries alone, or have lunch with a friend. I mean the moments when the chores are done, and you can think about how you will spend these moments of “free” time.
Do you want to read a book, meditate, call a friend, take a nap? I’ve really started thinking about how I want to spend this next stretch of time. What do I want to spend my time doing? Friends of mine have taken up new things in their 50’s and later. One is taking an art class, another quit her job to seriously pursue her life as an artist. One took up pottery, another took on a fitness challenge and is as fit as can be! One friend faced with change took on a radically different job, just to try something new.
What is holding you back?
Let this idea ruminate in your mind. Think about it. Roll it around. How do you want your future to look?
